Take your taste buds on a tropical adventure with this thick and creamy smoothie inspired by spicy pineapple cocktails. It's the perfect blend of sweet and spicy that will have you coming back for more! The best part? 16g of plant protein to keep you full and 500mg of antioxidant turmeric that you can't even taste!
Ingredients

1 heaping cup frozen pineapple

½ cup frozen mango

¾ cup water

2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (approximately ½ lemon)

1 scoop Growing Naturals vanilla pea protein (may substitute with vanilla rice protein)

1 tsp Tajin chili-lime seasoning* (may substitute with ¼ tsp cayenne pepper)

¼ tsp turmeric powder

1 dash of ground black pepper (this helps the absorption of turmeric)

Optional: ½ fresh jalapeño, seeded (small size 2-3 inches) for added flavor and spice
Directions
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
Taste the spiciness level and add more as needed (from cayenne, tajin or jalapeño)
Note
*Tajin is a chile lime seasoning that contains sea salt so if you are watching your salt intake, you can substitute it with 1/4 tsp cayenne powder.
Why 1/4 tsp turmeric powder? There is approximately 500mg turmeric in 1/4 tsp of the powder. This is the minimum amount shown to provide health benefits in studies. Turmeric contains bioactive compounds with medicinal properties. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a strong antioxidant.
