Turmeric powder containscurcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory and lovely complement to these tropical flavors. However, the body doesn’t absorb curcumin very well unless it’s paired withpiperine, the major compound in black pepper. So take this smoothie with 1-2 peppercorns. (Yep, just swallow them whole with water or smoothie–you wont even taste them.)
Flesh of 1 medium mango (or 2 cups frozen mango chunks)
2 cups pineapple chunks (fresh or frozen)
1 cup fresh carrot juice (can substitute with fresh OJ)
1/2 cup water
1 scoop Growing Naturals Vanilla Pea Protein
1 scoop Growing Naturals Original Rice Protein
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp flaxseed meal (could substitute with chia)
Directions
Place all ingredients except protein powders into a blender and blend until smooth. Then add the protein powders and blend again until thoroughly mixed. Pour and enjoy!
