Prep Time

Ingredients
-
2 cups soaked white chia (mix â…“ cup white chia seeds with 2 cups water, stir occasionally for 20 minutes. This makes a chia gel type texture. Awesome when blended for creamy ice cream.)
-
1 cup soaked raw macadamia nuts (only need to soak an hour. If you soak overnight, nuts will double in size. Either duration of soaking is fine, but use just 1 cup soaked nuts.)
-
½ cup Growing Naturals Vanilla Powdered Rice Milk
-
½ cup coconut sugar
-
2 oranges ~ make sure the oranges are delicious. The flavor of the Orange Julius will vary depending on the flavor of the oranges.
Directions
After the chia seeds and macadamia nuts have been soaked, simply combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth and creamy. It’s optional to let the mixture chill overnight in the refrigerator before running it through the ice cream machine. I find it makes ice cream faster if I chill the mixture first, however it’s not necessary. Run mixture through ice cream maker to make this creamy dreamy Orange Julius ice cream. Store in freezer safe container. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, chill this recipe and serve as a pudding.
