Ingredients
-
1 cup raw non flash pasteurized almonds (soaked 8 hours and rinsed)
-
2 tsp maple syrup (the real maple syrup, not “pancake syrup”)
-
1 Tbsp GN Chocolate Rice Protein Powder
-
1 tsp raw cacao (optional)
Directions
Pour the maple syrup and protein powder on top of the rinsed germinated almonds, and stir. Simply mix all ingredients together until well mixed. This makes a lovely fun snack.
Note
DEHYDRATED OPTION
This snack can be dehydrated on 105 for 12 hours. This makes it a dry snack. I add the raw cacao powder option because the color is more appealing to me when I add the darker cacao powder. If you don’t add the cacao powder, once dehydrated, the almonds will have the lighter color of the Growing Naturals Rice Protein Powder. Either way, they taste great! When I bring these to set, they go in a hurry.
If not dehydrating, I like to recommend kids sit at the table or on the kitchen floor to eat this snack, it can be a messy one. I think it’s whimsical to allow our children to get their hands a little messy. It’s nice to provide for them a snack with the powerhouse set of nutrients. The combination of raw almonds with GNs rice protein provide rich proteins along with high levels of minerals.
