Cherries are loaded with a variety of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytochemicals (i.e. super good for you and your health), which is why they’re the star of this decadent smoothie bowl. Plus they pair so nicely with yummy coconut 🙂
This recipe is vegan, dairy-free, soy-free and gluten-free.
Makes 2 servings
Ingredients
- 1 medium frozen banana
- 2 cups frozen pitted cherries
- 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk
- 3/4 cup water (*add more if you want a thinner consistency)
- 1/4 tsp almond extract (for a stronger cherry flavor)
- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 2 scoops Growing Naturals vanilla pea protein
Toppings – this is the crunch part 🙂
- 1/4 cup your choice granola
- 1-2 tbsp slivered almonds
- 1/2 tbsp unsweetened shredded or flaked coconut
- handful of fresh or frozen cherries
Directions
Place all ingredients (except protein powders) in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Then add protein powder and pulse until thoroughly mixed. Pour in a bowl and top with toppings!
