Candice Kumai, a.k.a. “The Stiletto Chef,” has been cooking her way into people’s hearts since she was just a budding “chefette.” After growing up as a So Cal surfer girl in Carlsbad, CA, Candice began modeling at a young age, gracing runways, catalogs and fit modeling from the time she was 15. She always knew, however, that her true calling was food. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach, Candice attended Le Cordon Bleu’s California School of Culinary Arts, where she earned top honors and a place on the Dean’s List.
Candice was next cast on the memorable Season 1 of Bravo’s “Top Chef,” where she won over many fans as the adorable, down-to-earth culinary student. Since, she has cooked for VIP events and celebs from The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel to the Hamptons. She has also sliced and diced alongside Wolfgang Puck in demonstrations for Wolfgang Puck Cookware. Already a host and culinary expert at HSN, she recently became one of the hosts of Lifetime’s new series, “Cook Yourself Thin,” also contributing to the #1 New York Times bestseller, “Cook Yourself Thin: Skinny Meals You Can Make in Minutes.” Candice currently writes as the “Stiletto Chef” Food Contributor for 944 Magazine, she is also a regular contributor to various food publications and lifestyle magazines/websites. She is currently working on new food TV projects, recipe writing and creating her first solo cookbook, due out late 2010.
