Project Description
Traveling makes eating healthy a little more challenging–but not impossible. You’re out of your routine; you may not have access to the foods you’d typically eat. Either way, I always make sure to stock up on “nutritional goodies” the day leading up to a trip, especially probiotics and fiber. On top of promoting healthy gut function, studies have also suggested that probiotics can help support your immune system (which is usually compromised during travel). Ever notice that you come down with a cold or something after traveling? And fiber–well, we can always use some of that 🙂
I’ve combined these goodies into a nutritious take on a classic American dessert…
Makes 2 servings

- 1 cup frozen strawberries*
- 2 cups strawberry or vanilla your choice yogurt (I used strawberry kefir)**
- 1 scoop Growing Naturals chocolate pea protein
- 1 scoop Growing Naturals vanilla pea protein
- 2 tbsp chia seeds (could substitute with ground flaxseed)
*You can use fresh fruit instead, but you’ll have to add 1-2 cups ice if you want a thick smoothie.
** Make this recipe dairy-free and vegan by substituting with a vegan yogurt.
Directions
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Pour into a bowl and top with your choice toppings. Enjoy!
