Is pea protein the same as eating ground up peas (pea flour)?

No, it is not. Pea protein is derived from dried split peas. First, split peas are ground up into a flour; then mixed with water; this “slurry” is agitated to remove most of the starch, leaving a concentrated protein powder behind.  With pea protein you are getting mostly protein and little to no carbs. When you eat split peas, or pea flour you get mostly carbs and some protein.
