Project Description

Vanilla Almond Cherry Smoothie BowlCherries are a decadent summer treat–but did you know they’re also useful for exercise recovery? Tart cherry juice specifically has shown some promise in this arena according to multiple studies. Although they haven’t confirmed how the cherry juice works, researchers believe it may be due to its potent polyphenol/antioxidant content. Thus far cherry juice has helped with lowering inflammation and oxidative stress after strenuous exercise. And since today was #legday… 🙂

  • 1.5 cups frozen pitted cherries
  • 1 cup original almond milk (or your choice milk)
  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1-2 tbsp slivered almonds
