Project Description

Restorative Citrus Ginger SmoothieIngredients:

  • 1 inch cube of fresh ginger root (aids with nausea and contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds)
  • 8-12 ounces coconut water (provides much needed fluid and electrolytes)
  • 1 medium orange peeled (provides natural source of sugar for energy and vitamin C, an anti-oxidant and immune booster)
  • Juice from 1 lemon (provides vitamin C and other anti-oxidant compounds)
  • 1 tsp turmeric (contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound)
  • 1-2 dashes black pepper (or take/swallow 1 whole peppercorn to aid the absorption of the curcumin in turmeric)
  • 1 scoop Growing Naturals Vanilla Pea Protein Powder (aids with regulation of blood sugar and hormones)
  • Ice as needed (to help you cool off)
  • ½ Tbsp flaxseed or chia (optional, omit if the stomach is uneasy)

Directions:

Mix ingredients in a blender thoroughly and enjoy on any day (but especially after a long day or night of imbibing). These ingredients were specifically chosen to offset some of those awful after-effects you may feel after drinking (e.g. dehydration, gastritis, low blood sugar, high body temp, irritability, fatigue, anxiety, etc.). Cheers!
